More About AESE

The Agricultural Economics Society of Ethiopia (AESE) is a professional society established in 1994 in accordance with the constitutional rights and obligations of the Ethiopian Constitution. The office of the society is located in Addis Ababa (at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research-EIAR). The society is lead by an executive committee (EC) constituting seven members (president, vice president, secretary, and others members). The EC members are elected by the general assembly of the society every two years. To assist the EC there is one part-time employees (an office manager/fundraiser and a secretary) who are accountable to the executive committee. Currently, the society has more than — active members.

Vision

We aspire to see the society becoming one of the strongest forums for Agricultural Economists and professionals in related disciplines in Ethiopia/Africa, and influential institution for problem solving research, teaching and advocacy in agriculture and allied sectors so that sustainable development is realized in Ethiopia.

Mission

AESE promotes unbiased professionalism of agricultural economists in Ethiopia and promotes (through its members) the generation and dissemination of research outputs that could used in the process of agricultural policy formulation as well as implementation of development programs/projects at grassroots level.
